| Gatlinburg, TN - Smoky Mountains | |
|---|---|
Gatlinburg is surrounded on three sides by the majestic Great Smoky Mountains National Park and has evolved from a rural hamlet to a thriving gateway community in less than a century.First named White Oak Flats for the abundant white oak trees in the valley, it was settled in the early 1800's by English, Scotch, Irish, and Scotch-Irish immigrants. From a small mountain village to a four-season resort, Gatlinburg and vicinity offer a glimpse of both eras.
Gatlinburg offers a variety of rental cabins, second homes, and vacation homes in the Smoky Mountains. Prices range from approximately $200,000 to well over $1 million. The majority of homes built in Gatllinburg are log homes or "log look" cabins. Many offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Being in the mountains, many of the lots are steep and somewhat difficult to build on, creating expensive foundations. With this extra expense does come a reward - usually a beautiful view. If you currently own a lot in Gatlinburg or are looking to build a new log home in Gatlinburg, Dunright Builders, LLC is a good choice for your custom log home built in the Smokies. Many of the homes in Gatlinburg are placed on a cabin rental program for overnight rentals. You can learn more about investing in Gatlinburg cabin rentals and log homes in the investments portion of my website. Some of the exciting new developments in Gatlinburg are the "Estates At Norton Creek" (including the "Enclave at Norton Creek", "Otter Run"), the "Enclave at Cove Mountain" which is a double gated community perched high atop Cove Mountain - the highest mountain outside of the Smoky Mountain National Park in the Smokies, and "White Oak Flats Settlement" which offers a small community feel with shopping and dining..
