Smoky Mountain Lookout Towers | ||

There are several lookout towers (fire towers) still standing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are even more that have been removed or became unstable due to time and weather effects. Here are the lookout towers still standing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park:

For more information on the Shuckstack Lookout Tower and to donate to help save and rehabilitate the tower please click here. Please take some time to view the website above they need $2,178 to make an effort to help restore Shuckstack Lookout Tower. It is an incredible place with amazing views of Fontana Dam. Situated near the peak of Cove Mountain is its firetower. Currently it is used by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Service to determine pollution in the area and National Park. Elevation is 4,150 feet at the top of Cove Mountain and the fire tower is at 4,077'. |
